 Durgabai Deshmukh Memorial Lecture – 2026,
 July 15 at 6.30 pm, at IIC New Delhi

Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh (1909–1981) was a trailblazing Indian freedom fighter, lawyer, institution-builder, social reformer and lifelong champion of inclusiveness. Every year on 15th  July,  since 1992, the Council for Social Development (CSD) and the India International Centre (IIC), mark Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh’s birth anniversary with the Durgabai Deshmukh Memorial Lecture.

This lecture brings together India’s leading scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to engage with the pressing questions of inclusiveness and development — from education and health to gender justice and sustainable development.

It gives us great pleasure to invite you to join for this year’s Memorial Lecture: “A New Consciousness for a Fractured Time: Rethinking India’s Development Path” by Shri Mihir Shah, Distinguished Professor and Chair, Rural Management Program, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Shiv Nadar University.
