A Collaborative Intiative of CSD and B.R.Ambedkar University, Delhi
The Government of NCT of Delhi has recently through an Act of the Delhi Legislature established a new university named after Dr.Ambedkar. The Ambedkar University, Delhi (AUD) is mandated to focus on teaching and research in social sciences and the humanities both at the under graduate as well as post graduate level.
AUD proposes to have its postgraduate teaching and research programmes located within schools of interdisciplinary studies. Some of the proposed schools are: School of Development Studies, School of Human Ecology, School of Human Studies, School of Creatve Expressions, School of Design, School of Law, Governance and Citizenship, School of Business, Public policy and Social Enterpreneurship, School of Education and School of Liberal Studies.
While the planning of academic structures and programmes are in progress, AUD proposes to offer one programme in 2008-09 on a pilot basis in collaboration with the Council for Social Development in the latter's premises. This would be a two-semester Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Development Studies and would be the first module for a Masters in Development Studies.
